Hi Kathy!! My husband was looking at that ram you have pictured here.We think it's coat is wonderful. He wanted me to ask you a silly (imho) question. He oohs and ahhs at your dyed and painted fibers...he's seen them first hand. He wants to know "Wouldn't it be easier to dye the sheep first?" He suggests waiting for a rainy day, then sprinkling dye powder all over them and let nature do the rest. Have you ever seen a box full of colored easter chicks? Thats what I'm picturing right now. Fields of wildly colored sheep waiting for you to shear and spin. You see what I have to put up with?? 20+ years of silly questions so far.

Herdwicks are cute, but their fleece is like straw!! I bought some for my collection of breed samples, but it's almost too coarse to spin.
